The virtue of memorizing the holy Qur’an
Praise be to Allah, the Possessor of merit and benevolence. He revealed his book and preserved it from additions and omissions, and made it easy to be memorize and learned . I pray and greet our Prophet Muhammad, the messenger of every human being
The Virtue of Memorizing the holy Qur’an
Memorizing the Qur’an is a followed Sunnah, for the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, had memorized the Holy Qur’an, and even Gabriel, peace be upon him, used to review it every year.
Memorizing the Quran protected from the fire in the day of judgment
The Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Uqba bin Amir said that he heard the prophet muhammed -peace be upon him- say " if the Qur'an was put in some one's heart and thrown into the fire it would not burn him".” Narrated by Ahmad
on the Day of Resurrection, The Qur’an will come as an intercessor for its memorizers and preservers. Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection."
[Muslim].
The Qur’an raises the one who memorizes it in Paradise by degrees
As in the hadith
Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-'As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite."'
[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi].
The Hafez of the Qur’an deserves to be respected and honored
for what was mentioned in the hadith
Abu Musa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "It is out of reverence to Allah in respecting an aged Muslim, and the one who commits the Qur'an to memory and does not exaggerate pronouncing its letters nor forgets it after memorizing, and to respect the just ruler".
[Abu Dawud, who classified it as Hadith Hasan].
The memorizers of the Qur’an are the people of God and his own, in the hadith
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah has His own people among mankind.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who are they?' He said: 'The people of the Qur'an, the people of Allah and those who are closest to Him.'"
Whoever memorizes the Qur’an, it is as if prophethood has been dragged between his sides, except that it is not revealed to him
The Hafez of the Qur’an is of high rank ، in the hadith
It was narrated from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: "The one who is proficient with the Quran will be with the noble and righteous scribes (the angels), and the one who reads it and stumbles over it, fining it difficult, will have a double reward."
Memorizing the Qur’an is an honor in life and hereafter.
Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Verily, Allah elevates some people with this Qur'an and abases others."
[Muslim]
The Hafiz of the Qur’an is the most deserving of people to lead the prayer, which is the pillar of religion, as in the hadith:
Abu Mas'ud 'Uqbah bin 'Amr Al-Badri Al-Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The person who is best versed in the recitation of the Book of Allah, should lead the prayer; but if all those present are equally versed in it, then the one who has most knowledge of the Sunnah; if they are equal in that respect too, then the one who has emigrated (to Al-Madinah) first, if they are equal in this respect also, then the oldest of them. No man should lead another in prayer where the latter has authority, or sit in his house, without his permission".
[Muslim]
The true bliss is in memorizing the Qur’an
"Do not wish to be like anybody except in two cases:
The case of a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right way, and that of a man whom Allah has given religious wisdom (i.e., Qur'an and Sunna) and he gives his verdicts according to it and teaches it"
Memorizing and teaching the Qur’an is better than the world and what is in it, in the hadith
Abu Umama said he heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) say: Recite the Qur'an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It.
Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al 'Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu'awiya said: It has been conveyed to me that here Batala means magicians.)
-The memorizer of the Qur’an is the most reciting of the people, so he is the most collector of the reward for recitation
Ibn Mas'ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah will be credited with a good deed, and the good deed receives a ten-fold reward
Memorizing the Qur’an is a reason for the life of the heart and the light of the mind.
Qatada رضى الله عنهsaid: “Restore your hearts with it, and build up your homes with it”
Ka'b, may God be pleased with him, said: "You have to recite the Qur'an, for it is the understanding of the mind, the light of wisdom, the springs of knowledge, and the most recent books of the Most Merciful.
May Allah benefit us with what we have said, and our last prayer is praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds
